Cindy - The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA came to my
art history class and gave a great presentation on the history of French
fashion, so I would suggest contacting them. Here is their website:
http://www.fidm.com/. Perhaps you could also get information from the
Metropolitcan Museum of Art Costume Institute, and/or the Fashion
Institute of Technology in Manhattan.
