Re: haveing a bad week..

It's so hard to get teaching jobs now so i guess you'll have to be content
for now with your lot. I have taught all levels and right now really
enjoying the high school level but I was forced into teaching English
grades 10-12, newspaper, journalism, etc. for 12 years. I had taught elem
art and we had a redistricting, closing of schools and shifting around to
save jobs so I had no choice. i learned a lot from that and was able to
then go into an art job about 4 years ago at the same high school.

I also taught 4th grade about 30 years ago. I had a job teaching art 7-12
and was pregnant with son no. 4 and could not go back to me job. In those
days--there was no maternity leave, no extended maternity leave, no unpaid
leave to save my job leave,e tc. so it was start over again. I was asked
to teach for a short time a year or so later in the same district-fourth
grade (no training for that--) I did it for a semester but didn't want to
leave my young family any more so I didn't continue but it wasn't bad. I
think fourth 5, 6th are the best in elem school(my favorites anyway) but
third is a nice age too. They always did nice art , I remember.

Keep up your spirits. It can be done and who knows you may make a full
circle the way I did.
