I don't remember hearing a label attached to this strategy, but I
strongly remember experiencing the concept as shared with us by Rika
Burnam from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. For several years she came
to Wichita State University to lead our summer institute. The
questioning strategy was powerful when Rika did it with us (a bunch of
art teachers) but I was never able to get it to work as well with my art
appreciation students. I felt like I needed more training--there was
something I wasn't getting and I was always too quick to jump in with
answers if there was a lull in the discussion.
But I am fascinated and definitely want to know more--so those of you
who have experienced this--keep those posts coming!
