Hi,
I was reading your post and could really relate to the student which you =
described. I've know so many kids who seem to be lost between the =
different cliques that make up so much of the social life at school. =
However, I became alarmed that you found the Anarchist's Cookbook in her =
bag. First question, how did you find it? Were you looking through her =
bag or was it visible without you touching her bag? There are legal =
issues there. Either way, this is serious in my opinion. The =
Anarchist's Cookbook is not the usual reading of a kid who is just =
anti-social, it tells people how to blow things up using common house =
hold materials. I would talk to her counselor and her parents =
immediately. It sounds harsh, but what about the other kids that she =
might hurt if you don't. There is just too much at stake for a teacher =
not to say something. You may even be legally responsible to report =
this. It is a tough call for sure. Good luck and let us know what =
happened. This is something that all of us are faced with now and again =
and it is never easy.
