I work with pre K and 5 year olds, but even when I worked with K-8th
I always gave everyone an art literacy or achievement award. They
were always so proud. The exceptional few which had the most
potential whether by enthusiasm or technically> if they had a
passion, I would privately give them an art item> Small paint set,
book or pen. I think I gave one student pearl paint pens and black
paper. This year the items were T shirts for the preK and an Escher
sponge, for older kids a flat paper sponge to make their own escher
shape and then add water and it becomes 3D (it's like freeze dried
sponge). These are given at my expense and the certificates I made
on the computer. If I had time I was going to laminate art pictures,
then punch holes and tie string.
