good news

Just wanted to share some good news for a change. The arts always seem
to be at the bottom of the pile,"making do" at every turn. For the past
few years, I have turned in a "wish list" to my principal at the
beginning of the year in time for budget requests. While they were
never funded in the regular budget, there was some district money left
over this year, and she (my principal) decided to fund almost all of my
requests.

I will be getting: new stools (currently I have old broken ones, or
orange chairs which make cleaning/working in the art room a challenge);
flat files (OH, JOY!); enclosed shelving for my storage room (last year
I got a kiln, and all of my supplies had to be relocated to a large
corner of my art room - a nightmare this year - everything will be
moving back to inside the new shelves); and a display cabinet on wheels
for three dimensional work (for showing children's work in the lobby).

While I have been running around getting three bids for everything (I
was told that I had five days to do this), I have also been trying to
get work mounted for the big end of the year art show next week. This
has been stressful, but oh so satisfying, and I just wanted to share.
