kiln wash........HELP!!!!!!

I'm fairly new to the arena of clay work, and was hoping someone more
experienced could help me with a problem I've been having...........kiln wash
((pleh)).

In an effort to spiff up the kiln, I've scraped the shelves clean and given
'em all new coats of kiln wash. Now I can't seem to make it (the wash) last
more than one firing. [ I'm assuming it's meant to ] It's gotten to be a
real frustration....we fire at least four times a week and having to
"re-wash" the shelves every single time has sure slowed things down.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
