Our K-5 elementary school will be celebrating its 40th birthday next year
and I'm looking for ideas that will tie in with the theme "quilting", which
is what has been chosen for the overall theme. I'm guessing that the
person/s who chose the theme were thinking about memory quilts, and they
are certainly doable.

I thought of having a human quilt where each class chooses a pattern, wears
the appropriate colors, and fits into all the other class squares to form a
gorgeous quilt ... I'm still looking for someone with a helicopter to
volunteer to fly over and take our picture. Maybe local news stations.

We've already held a birthday cake design contest, and the winner will have
his cake replicated as big as we can. Any ideas here for giant pans,
ovens? the winning design was a round 3 tiered cake.

Any ideas at all ! will be welcome, not just quilty things. I'm really
experiencing a block with this particular theme. ugh. no pun intended.
