If any of you are researching this summer do look into the
Eyewitness series and some of the DK books. I picked up a few books
at the library this week.
Native Americans by Reavis Moore
ISBN 1-56261-105-4 14.95 They also have a book on African artists
It is about 5 talented Native americans,discussing their background
and culture and their contributions to the world of art, music, and
The one from Mexico is also affiliated with the Huichol Cultural
center where they teach yarn painting among other things. At the
back of the book is an address to write to all the artists.

World Crafts "Masks" by Meryl Doney
ISBN 0-531-14397-x(they also have a books on Puppets,toys and
Musical Instruments.
It covers masks from-Mexico, Africa, India, Europe, Japan, Papua New
Guinea, Sri Lanka, Aztec(Mexico),Peru,Pacific Island, Nigeria,and
Easy instructions and a brief History before each lesson.

The last book is called"Traditional Crafts from Africa" by:Florence

Some I had,but it was nice to compare.
Senufo Mud Painting
Adinkra stamps,Fon picture story(Wonderful)
Bead bracelets,Tutsi Basket,games and a mask project.
At the back of the book they have resources for africa as well as a
Metric conversion chart.
