The Phy. Ed teacher and I have scheduled grade level outdoor
extravaganza's for the last week of school...we did this last year it was
great for all involved, freeing up the last week for inventory, clean-up,
etc..and still "giving" the gift of prep. time to our classroom teachers
and best of all ending the year with a very memorable group time for
students....anyway, to put a new twist on things I decided to have a great
big tie dying fest...notes went home about shirts and volunteers, I'm well
stocked on dies and fairly confident that all will go well..we even have
rain plans....I'd just like to know some historical info on the
subject..I'm not even clear about Java-does anyone know of any good
resources-books or web sites?
In Japan there is tie-dying called Shibori. Attended a workshop several
years ago on idigo dying and this was one technique. I've seen articles in
fabric magazines...Threads. Try the net.
