Alix, have fun in Italy this summer. My heart is there. When I went,
it was in '95 and I was a junior in college. I unfortunately didn't
think too much about after graduation then. So here I am, my first year
teaching, wishing that I would've gotten more things to show and teach
the kids. Oh well, there will be a next time!! This summer for me, it
is a three week trip to the west. Starting in Santa Fe, Taos, up thru
the Grand Canyon, to Utah, Idaho, and a final hike in Wyoming. This
midwestern girl will think much more about her own art and getting
things for the kids to learn from this time. Ciao!

19 more class days and trying to find time to do my own work is not
easy. I'm anxious to find out what my two weeks in Italy ( Venice,
Florence, Sienna and Milan) will do to my own work, my watercolors,
painting and photography. The plan right now is to have all my film put
onto CD-ROM and use in class for art history and tie-ins with a 6th
grade social studies area on the Rennaissance. If anyone has had
experience with such a trip influencing their work please let me know.
