My kids also LOVED weaving. I did it with the 3rd graders. They could go on
and on but I think that there has to be a timeframe for the unit. When most of
the kids were about 1/2 down on their looms, I gave them another 2 classes to
finish up. For the "slow-pokes" who didn't have a prayer to finish on time, I
encouraged them to take the work home to catch up to the rest of the class.
Some children are slow because they do not have the dexterity. LD's had a hard
time with the 'alternating under-over but they were able to complete a
fantastic project after they got the hang of it. We used all sorts of
different stuff besides yarn. They were very impressive.
