I am finishing my first year teaching art. k-5. I have tried very hard to
expose the children to dbae. I try and teach about art "stuff" not just to
make and do neat things. By stuff I mean the principles and elements of art,
and the cultures and peoples that create art. I was amazed to see my split
grade 3/4 kids eat up a lesson on Inuit printmaking. I am writing you cause
this year has had big friggin ups and downs........(as I prepared for two art
shows I have commited myself to, ambitiously and foolishly) If you have the
passion don't let the "red tape" and political bullsh*t get you down. The kids
can "get" dbae. They just need a bit of encouragement and support from you
