In one part of the reading list posted (i.e., GENERAL WORKS ON SPIRITUALITY
AND LIFE), I can not help but notice some Western people's fascination with
Eastern religions, with a mix of New Age and Scientism (with Eastern
leanings). There is certainly a biased attitude towards that. I am not an
advocate of universality, nor am I a bigot. I just have my set of
convictions that I share with other people in the world. But one way or the
other, since we are all a part of an art and/or academic community, I would
like to see a more balanced reading list that would include Western, as
well as Eastern, philosophies on spirituality. I am particularly referring
to readings on Christian philosophy, although readings on other Western
thoughts are welcome. But have Western people gotten tired of Christianity?
:) :) :) Please don't take it as an offense, this is merely my personal
reaction towards the list. If you can recommend a more balanced reading
list, it would be truly refreshing.
