Concerning Teresa Tipton's message about art room design, I too used
this arrangement when I taught K-5 art and model this design in my
undergraduate art education methods courses at Central Connecticut State
University. My students have found it to be a very workable arrangment for
Saturday Morning Workshop. The center table becomes the supply table,
easily accessible to all students sitting around it in surrounding tables.
One minor detail, don't forget to allow a walking space between tables in
the U if you wish for students sitting on the outer realms to be able to
access the supply table easily. Otherwise, they must walk all the way
around the room to get to the center table.
