Hello All-
Regarding videos: I agree about Masters of Illusion for any level student
above about 7th grade. I also use Maria Martinez which I think is by the
National Park Service. It really honors age, the earth and fine
craftsmanship. I just recently got the Maya Lin video which I really enjoyed.
I plan to show it to 8th graders, but am unsure of how they will respond. I
think it would be excellent for high school and beyond. Following an exhibit
of Dale Chihuly's work in Minneapolis, I picked up a video about him. I
showed that to both 7th graders and college students with many positive
comments. It challenges the common notion of an artist because of his
team/workshop approach. Very interesting. The Minneapolis Institute of Art
had one for sale and was showing two others about Chihuly during the exhibit.
You could contact them for more info. Anyone have any other suggestions?
