I live in Italy and its a wonderful place to be for anyone interested in the
Arts. Its like being in a living museum! I teach to Italian children ages
6-14 and find they have great artistic abilities, as if they have absorbed
the art through their surroundings. I will share some of my experiences
Now, I am writing, because some of you may be planning a trip to Italy for
the summer. I have some information to pass on to you.
I have a friend who rents an apartment in Venice just 10min walk from St.
Mark's Square, on short term (minimum 3 nights) fully furnished with all
comforts, fully equipped kitchen, for a cost which is much cheaper than
staying in a hotel. (Lit. 80.000 a night -approx. $50 night) The
apartment sleeps two, and there are discounts for stays of 1 week or longer.
It is available from 1 July.
As from 1 September he will have a larger apartment available which sleeps
4. (Lit. 150.000 a night - approx. $94 a night).
It's a way of seeing Venice without spending a lot. You also save by not
having to eat three meals a day in a restaurant, and you can cater to your
own eating habits.
Anyone interested can contact me for more information.
P.S. (I also have an artist friend who rents out her Tuscany farm house in
the summer and fall, but on a monthly basis. Sleeps 6-8 at least. I just
tried to call her to find out if it is still available but she is not home.
I'll get back on this later.)
