I don't teach AP art history but I do co-teach a senior seminar with an English
teacher called Art and Humanity. I have used at times material contained in a
book by Helen Hume called "Art History & Appreciation - Activities Kit"
published through the Center for Applied Research in Education in West Nyack,
NY. It provides background, lessons, projects, and some slides from all
periods of art. Though I adapt or modify for my own purposes her suggestions,
the projects are for the most part very informative, hands-on and fun. Not
all the projects are great, but there is enough in the book to justify its
purchase, though I seem to recall it was expensive.
