Robert,
I agree with what you've stated about integration of curriculum. Art
teachers.........(dare I use that term?) should consider their subject equal
to the others. I am not sure we should assume Carolyn and our colleagues
don't know that. We as "professionals" must also lead by example. "Demanding"
should not be confused with confidently showing educators and administrators
how they might benefit by using art to help kids learn. That,as we all know,
is the neverending battle for truth,justice,and a budget we can live with.
Status and clout with those artless savages is the "Impossible Dream" we all
seek.
Yes,be proud and confident about what we do. And those math types
especially need help with their curriculum.They do things backwards you know.
