Art and Math Lessons

Our school system is stressing that the arts teachers include as much
math (and reading) in their lessons as possible.
I teach middle school level and I have been working on lessons to do
this. One problem area for the students is measurement and I have the
students measure their drawing paper and also figure the area and
perimeter in both inches and centimeters. They also measure when they
do lettering and when they are figuring the amount of yarn they need to
weave.
Please share your ideas as to how you include math in some of your art
lessons.
