I teach art in a middle school in Indiana. Recently, I called one of my
students up to my desk for misbehaving. Wanting him to admit to what he had
done wrong before setting a punishment I asked him if he could tell me why
I had called him to my desk. He said he didn't know. So I then tried
another approach and asked him if he thought that he was misbehaving. He
said he didn't know. By this time I was getting very frustrated and said.
Tell me why I am very displeased with your actions? He looked at me and
said "Can I buy a vowel?" I burst out laughing and told him to go back to
his seat and behave! Since then he has!
