While my fourth grade art students were busy working, I had a moment to sit
down and read some of the posts here. It occurred to me that we were
sharing adult, "Teacher" opinions of coloring books, so, I asked my
students what they thought of coloring books.
It was overwhelming:) They love them. Why? I queried.... "Well... cause it
is not hard to do and we feel good when we are done."
I then asked... do you learn alot about art when you use a coloring book?
The kids responded "No, we learn more when we draw and color our own
pictures. But, WHY do we have to learn all the time? Can't we just have fun
sometimes?"
The students asked that I share their opinions:)
Sincerely,
Chris
