My school is considering developing and providing a listserv for high
school art students. It would begin sometime next fall and intended to
encourage teen aged peers with interests in the arts to share their ideas.
Ideally,it would form a network far beyond their classrooms and home
computers. Teachers, grad students and others beyond their prime (teen years)
would be asked not to directly participate. They might subscribe, but not
write. We are interested in how or if such a forum will evolve. I am
especially eager to hear how students without art ed buzz words choose to
communicate.
Please let me know if you have any comments or ideas toward such an effort.
Mine is an urban high school in Columbus, Ohio. We are in the initial stages
of a major upgrade of our technology. This service will be very
informal.Fundraising by my students and the help of the Columbus Ohio Freenet
would make it possible. I anxiously await any constructive comments.
