I spent a month in Thailand and Laos by myself. I really wish I had spent more time in Laos. It is a magical place and I felt very safe there. I liked thailand, but was not impressed with the mass commercialism in the big cities. Take the funky trains out to smaller towns and just walk around or rent a bike and be amazed at the simple beauties that abound.
