This is in response to Lisa re: ideas for organic farming/recipe
cards.... Make your own recipe card paper (from scraps or you can buy
pulp) & embed seeds into the paper cards. Students can write the
recipes on them, but have them make 2--one to plant (paper & all) &
one to keep. The pulp can be colored with handmade, organic dyes to
create designs into the paper (Ex: crushed walnut shells make a brown
dye, cochineal insects make red dye). Social studies & science
integrative opportunities galore. Good luck!
