Dear Art Educators,

Lotte Petricone has updated her web site. Check it out:'s_art_news.htm
See work by her co-workers too:

New projects added:
A few ideas came from Art Education list and/or the IAD. The sixth
grade page has cut paper portraits adapted from Marvin Bartel's site,
slot sculptures from Dick Blick's site. The Traveling Landscapes is
Lotte's original lesson - the webquest is there on the page.

The seventh grade page has paper sculpture portraits that begin with
paper masks that Lotte does in sixth grade, and evolved. The cardboard masks
idea came from list posts - inspired by Eric Straw. Lotte says they
were great to do and easier than most masks. Digital self-portraits
are an IAD project (Jeannie Sandoval's lesson), and Exquisite Corpse
came from list posts - were
perfect for hard to teach seventh graders this year.

The Eighth grade page has Wild Weather Landscapes that go with the
webquest of the same name - a variation on the sixth grade one, and 3-D
portraits. Lotte's 3-D People Sculpture paper mache lesson is on IAD.
Cans were used this year along with recycled cardboard.

Lotte's Cardboard Relief masks lesson is coming on Incredible Art Department.
