Yes, I did. The whole idea sounded wonderful on the first page of the
letter/invitation until I got to the second page and read that delegates pay for
themselves. The $3800 for one week in China sounded like a lot of money to
me. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be a part of this "delegation", learn
about the educational system of China, attend seminars, and share my
knowledge with my colleagues and students. I would think that the exchange rate in
China certainly would afford us a much less expensive fee.
