My grad school ceramics prof, Sheldon Carey, used an assignment with
his beginning students where students had to slip cast one or more
pieces, cut them up at the leatherhard stage, and reassemble them as
cubistic sculpture piece.

If I did this, I might precede it with this lesson on cubistic drawing.
