There have been a number of posts asking for Computer Graphics lesson
ideas this year. Stephanie Cavallaro has shared her NEW Computer
Graphics Web site with me.
Delaware Valley High School Computer Graphics:
http://dvasdweb.dvasd.k12.pa.us/dvworld/computergraphics/index.html
Stephanie teachers computer graphics and graphic design grades 10 through 12.
Stephanie's Web site will be featured on Spotlight on Student Art in
an upcoming month. If you want your school art site featured - let me
know. I would like to feature sites first that were not featured on
Great Sites in the past (then I will start repeating).
Enjoy the art work.
Regards,
Judy Decker

SellArtSmart Newsletter- tips & such from art-exchange.com
Featured art consultant- Joyce Stacks
It's hard to tell what's more impressive- Joyce's educational attainments or her vast experience. After taking a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design (summa cum laude), Joyce has overseen the design of commercial projects all across the United States, including high-end hospitality, five-star spas, and retail centers. Having walked "miles in their moccasins," she knows the support professional design consultants are looking for. She has also applied her creative talents in marketing and advertising and her business acumen in a retail design center, so she has a broad understanding of the industry. And her professional certifications give her instant credibility with designers.
Joyce Stacks- another one of the top art consultants working for you at art-exchange.com.
One way we get your art in front of art buyers is the BuyArtSmart newsletter http://65.64.8.64:81/CT00003101NjI2Mzg1====.HTML. Call Eric at (800) 647-6336 ext. 108 to find out how to get special exposure here.
Consign@design
Designers frequently use their own office space as a sort of "mini-gallery" where they can show clients the benefits of fine art in a business setting. This helps get art included in more design projects. To help with this, they sometimes request that we place a number of works on consignment. When this happens we call selected artists to arrange for the collection of works. If one of these is you, congratulations- the designer expects to sell your art or they wouldn't go to the time and trouble required to do this. So when we call, be prepared to try something a little out of the ordinary- you'll be glad you did!
Pop Art? Not exactly--
We are constantly looking for new ways to keep your art in view. We have developed a new concept called a "popunder" to display exceptional work in a unique way. If you think your work might fit, call Glen at (800) 647-6336 ext. 111 to find out more.
Tip of the month
Where can I find a rep?
This is one of the most common questions artists have. A rep allows the artist to concentrate on the creation of art instead of dividing time between creation and marketing.
TIP: Locating a good rep takes time, so expect to be your own rep for a while- build your audience and reputation, and maintain good records of your sales, shows, and awards. These are the things a rep wants to have as tools to help them do their job. Learn more about how to locate, approach and work with a rep in Art Marketing 101, 2nd Edition. Read more about this 350-page book at http://65.64.8.64:81/CT00003102NjI2Mzg1====.HTML.
Listing your art with us
Follow these instructions http://65.64.8.64:81/CT00003103NjI2Mzg1====.HTML or call Roc at (800) 647-6336 x126 to sign up today.
Exhibitions 2005 seeking alternative media for 4th quarter show
Spring Special still on!- submit a work in alternative media and receive 2 permanent listings free. Call Brigid at (800) 647-6336 ext. 120 to take advantage of this offer. Valid for existing customers OR with purchase of any new listing package.
Nuts and Bolts for existing customers:
Do we have your picture?
Every artist listed with art-exchange gets two web regions as part of our service - one is "Available Works" pages which show works listed with art-exchange. The other is the "Artist Information" age, which has a bio or artist's statement and exhibition lists. The "Artist Information" page has a picture. IF you have provided one! This picture is another way you can personalize the experience for those people who have come to see your art. Take advantage of it!
Wholesale vs retail- round 3
We've talked in previous issues http://65.64.8.64:81/CT00003104NjI2Mzg1====.HTML about why wholesale prices are important, how they are used, and who gets to see them. However, many of the works we have listed continue to have no difference between wholesale and retail price. This is a recipe for failure- if a professional buyer cannot buy a work below retail, they are likely to move on to another. Don't let this happen to you!
If you need to make changes related to the above or anything else related to your listings just call us at (800) 647-6336 ext. 100 or email us at customerservice@art-exchange.com http://65.64.8.64:81/CT00003105NjI2Mzg1====.HTML.
Memorial Day deadline
For a limited time (through Memorial Day), existing artist subscribers who submit an impressionist work for the 2005 Exhibition get to list an additional work in our database, FREE! Contact Anita at (800) 647-6336 ext. 121.
