EDUCATION COMMISSION OF THE STATES SEEKS ARTS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Job Description
The Program Director takes the lead role with respect to the ECS Chairman's Initiative on Arts in Education and plays a collaborative or supportive role with respect to other institute projects. The director develops and monitors the arts project so that ECS goals, objectives and products are realized in a timely and comprehensive manner. This position requires developing grant proposals, building and managing program budgets and some out-of-state travel.
Skills/Requirements
Candidate must have a Masters degree in an applicable discipline such as fine and performing arts, education, political science, public policy or public administration, or equivalent education and experience, three or more years of progressive experience working in relevant areas of education policy, and current and extensive knowledge in project content area. Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with political leaders, policymakers, leaders of education agencies and organizations, institutional leaders and faculty, public media and other researchers and education professionals.
