Here are my 2 cents about the book idea:

I think that there is a great need for such a resource, but not just for us
art educators who would very much appreciate this book...but for those K-2
regular classroom teachers who do not have the benefit of having an Art Specialist
at their school and are soley responsible for their student's Art education.

With an approach to teaching Art by connecting it with so many other
subjects, this type of curriculum book can show the general classroom teacher/special
ed teacher/music teacher/etc, that Art is a comprehensive subject not to be
scared of if they have no formal art training. I know that my primary classroom
teachers are very apprehensive of any Art type project, (painting, gluing,
cutting, sculpting), that they ask for my "consultation" every step of the way.
What about those teachers who do not have an art teacher to consult?

There are not many resources out there for younger children that
deomonstrates the complete package for Art. I can find you holiday and seasonal craft
books galore....but a true Art curriculum with connections to other subjects and
disciplines. A book like this, in my opinion, would be a treasure. Make sure
it is not only available in art catalogs, but classroom teacher curriculum
catalogs as well! Show it with the math, science, social studies, music and
drama curriculum resources, let all of those classroom teachers know how Art can
connect all subjects even at the younger ages.
