Can I put glass that has been arranged and set onto square contact paper in
casting resin?

I used a mosaic tile kit for 14 coasters and the mix is indoor plaster
cement.
That worked fine for the group (it also called for petroleum jelly on the
corners after setting the contact paper with glass in the square mold before
applying the cement.

I have another class that I wanted to try and achieve a transparent stained
glass look with but found (by doing it once with my 3rd grade daughter) it to
be too toxic smelling and they can't transfer their arranged glass very well by
hand without getting it all over themselves and the warning lables scare me.

So I decided to eat the $40 I spent on the gallon of resin and just do all of
the projects with more cement. Then I thought, why can't I just cast the
whole piece of contact paper? It would still be see through. But will the
contact paper melt or something? Or can I even go back to resin casting now
that I have put vaseline in the trays and can't seem to wash it out entirely?
I did buy mold release, fyi/

Another question. I can't find indoor masaic cement, can I just use
plaster? Or outdoor stepping stone cement? I have to do these at 3 pm, please
respond if anyone has an idea.
