I finally found a great recipe for "sand clay". However, there were many many when I did a search. Basically you make the "cornstarch playdough" except use sand where you would have used flour. 2c sand, 1c cornstarch, 1c. salt, 1c water, cook on low heat until it starts to pull away from the bottom, quickly turn it onto a non-stick cookie sheet, cool, knead.
