PapaInk and Habitat for Humanity's global youth art call, "Building a
Sense of Home," has inspired vibrant and insightful art from Estonia,
South Africa, Turkey, Brazil, Canada and many more communities around
the world. To teachers and students who have submitted art for
exhibition--thank you, and please feel free to encourage your colleagues
to do the same!
"Building a Sense of Home" is a terrific end of the school year project,
an opportunity for young artists to creatively represent meaningful
places in their lives. Please read more about the project here:
Art submissions are accepted through the end of July. All students' art
will be exhibited within PapaInk's digital archive.
A final note on publishing opportunities! PapaInk was recently contacted
by the publisher of an upcoming book on maps who expressed interest in
publishing selected young artists' creative mappings of their homes and
communities. For any images that are published, full copyright will be
retained by the young artist. (No payment is involved for young artists
or for PapaInk.) Interested teachers, please encourage students to
create imaginative, creative maps--or colorful map-like drawings--of
their neighborhoods, communities, local areas or states to capture the
spirit and form of these places.
We look forward to exhibiting your students' "Building a Sense of Home"
