Re: Pre-AP Art

Pre-A.P. art is an interesting type of class. I did this with some Juniors
so that they could work on their concentration project a little more. The
curriculum was simple:

1. They needed to create a concentration statement and purpose.

2. Find resources and plan out a group of works. Make a file of pictures or

3. Next they would complete at least 6 major works (large mixed media or
single media that required lots of time) with a contract of what they are
doing, what materials they needed, and how long it will take. This allowed
them to work on larger pieces and give them more time to complete them.

We called it Independent Study. Most of these kids were done with the entire
portfolio by March.
