We had family arts night at our school last Thur. I, too, was determined to
have one piece of art work up for each child (485 of them). I was coming up
short, so, the week before (during testing week), I had each class do 4 earth
day/spring murals on long pieces of butcher paper. They were absolutely
delightful and were a bigger hit than the individual pieces.
This year with much fear and trepidation, I delegated a lot of the work to
parents and teachers. The only thing that went wrong was that some of the
murals got put up in the stairways to the 3rd floor which were off-limits. No
big deal--they only took a few minutes to get relocated. After all these
years, I'm finally learning that what doesn't get done, nobody notices
anyway.
