My sister lives in Liberty, also, and her house was o.k.. She moved one
block over about 3 months ago, and her other house, one block over, is
completely destroyed. The family that was living there, was not home at the
time.

We're here but prett shook up. My best friend lost his house in Liberty,
Missouri. Lots of damage but people were warned early enough to seek shelter
in their basements. I live in Harrisonville MO. The twisters came though
the south of the state too but minimal damage. We were in our basement for
about 1/2 hour. Enough to scare my kids. Hail just came through here again
about half hour ago. I'm still jumpy.

Dorothy and Toto knew all about it.

An old Native American belief is that the twisters will
not set down where the Kansas and Missouri rivers meet.
It's lucky then that we live downtown in sight of the rivers.
The Storms set down in western Wyandotte County out by
the new race track and Wyandotte County Lake then
across the river into Parkville, Missouri. It's fortunate
that only one life was lost. The warnings were out early
and often to alert the public.
