I have used the glass etching material with wonderful success, and no harm to
hands, face, eyes, etc. I bought a very small bottle of glass etch at Hobby
Lobby for about $7--a bit pricey. It was with stained glass materials. You
brush it on, leave for 15 minutes (longer than the directions say), then wash
off with water. I have used masking tape to create patterns, and you can
also buy stencils that adhere to the glass.
