HELP!

I just fired the final projects for my ceramics class and one of the projects exploded and pieces got stuck to the glaze of another project. (one of the kids glazed a piece that hadn't been bisque fired yet -- and that's the piece that exploded -- that's what I get for letting kids cut corners, I know!)

Is there anything I can do to remove the pieces? I'm trying sandpaper and trying to pry the pieces off with an exacto knife. what a mess!
