I worked as a graphic designer doing package design years ago (b4
computers!) and for us a comp was a mock-up of the actual finished package
using hand coloring, hand lettering etc. Greeking is using nonsense words
to indicate where blocks of copy or display type - which hadn't be written
yet - would be placed.
