I had $600 for about 550 kids this year. I thought that was pretty good. I
ordered clay for all 6 grade levels and had money left ot order supplies for
next year. I am a great scrounger and am not shy about asking for donations.
Paints are my biggest expense and next year my PTA is buying Prang refills
instead of the boxes. I get the refills because most teachers don't paint in
their classrooms. They also buy me pocket folders and colored posterboards
for portfolios and Sharpies. That saves me a lot. I also ask my students and
teachers to donate glue, lpencils, markers, colored pencils and paper at the
end of the year. Since they buy new supplies each year. most old ones are
thrown away at the end of the year. I haven't had to buy glue in 4 years.
