I agree with the plus side of tempera cakes...ease of cleanup, less waste,
easy to store. However on the downside I found students sometimes had
difficulty controlling the amount of water they used to mix the paints and
the result was sometimes less opaque than I would have liked. Also, if
students are mixing colors it is difficult to mix up a quantity of
paint...and when they start mixing in the paint pans there goes your ease of
clean up.
