A good artist, or for that matter a good critic (an artist of sorts in his
own right) as well as poor lawyers and politicians can make anything mean
just about anything else as they please.
what something means is only a possibility until there is agreement. one
of the sadder lessons of history is that if you tell the people of a
nation or community that a thing means something bad or good often enough
and then connect it with a few observable "facts", eventually you can
achieve a general consensus and a kind of dominance of peer pressure.
