As silly as it sounds, it works for even 8th graders...as non-involved as
they try to appear. I use this approach about once a month. It's halarious
to witnesss kids' reactions when they're lolligagging around getting
supples/or cleanup and all I have to do is start saying..."10, 9, 8....".
They start grinnin', scrambling and rushing to get seated before "1". I'm
laughing too and it's such a fun way to get them seated quickly. If
someone's late, the class will start pointing fingers at these people and
say...."Hey, man...you're late (grins)". Peer pressure is neat if you can
get it to work for you. Toodles......
