RE: slippery fingers

I once has the headmaster's son make a bong in my clay class (this was after
the penis he cleverly crafted). I confronted him in front of the whole
class as he sat and practiced inhaling through it. He acted like he didn't
know what I was talking about and when reported to the principal, he merely
smashed it and claimed he never made it. Next time, I will make sure it is
fired or stowed away as evidence before I report anyone.
The best bet is to pull the child aside and confront him or her and then if
they still won't change it, I love the idea of plugging in the holes ( or
maybe I just love the idea of having the last word!).

Also, thanks to everyone who contributes to this list. I have gained
invaluable information and realize how much work I have to do to get my
program to be anywhere near all of yours!

Thanks,
Becky in NC

Subject: slippery fingers

Oh not me! I am not suttle about those things. I tell them before
they start that they are to produce objects with only one hole in
them, and that i am smart. I don't give any other comments on the
pot subject until i see one. Before it is even dry i pick it up walk
over to the child and smash it on their desk. Then I make them
start over if there is time or if there is no time I make them out the
clay back into the clay trash can to rewet and give them a big fat
"0" in the grade book. When they start to argue I just tell them i
won't talk about it without the presence of the principal and their
mommy. They shut up and take the 0.
I know that's mean but I don't want them to waste my expensive
clay either.
Meredith
