I had promised to do a clay project with my 8th grades, and last friday
we built slab pots with attachments. As I was loading the kiln, I
noticed one finely crafted pot, tall and narrow and open at the top. It
had a beautiful pattern of diamonds and circles etched in the sides,
and some impressed burlap textures. On closer inspection I noticed two
holes drilled into the sides. It looked an awful lot like a bong pipe,
the kind used to smoke pot. As I was carrying it to the kiln, I
accidentily dropped it. It smashed into pieces on the floor. Oh darn, I
hate it when that happens. Have any of you had slippery fingers?
