I'm on cable, Time Warner's Roadrunner and I love it. Yes it cost
me $40 extra a month, but I could not stand the slow download
of the dialup method. No I don't use a backup, RR has gone down
at times or had problems, but I've never bothered to get the dial up
for a back up. I never us RR's interface, my settings take me to my
home page as soon as I turn the computer on (it's seldom off).

Go back to dial up speeds for a day and you will remember how
slow it is. Remember being cut off in the middle of a download.
I get frustrated with the speed at school and it's on a t-line.
