paper playground

The paper playground for a miniature friend (posted by caryn, below) sounds
similar to the "Bug Playground," that was posted by Maryann Kohl (I
believe). Anyway, it IS a great lesson. I taught my kinders how to make
paper strips 3-D and they went to town with it. I had some packing foam
that was small and black, looked like little caterpillars, and the students
used those for bugs.
Most of my students made theirs into little amusement parks with major
roller coasters. Of course, the boys had to see who could make the tallest!
Students in grades 1-5 saw the results, and many decided to make their own
playgrounds when they finished their final assignments. The lesson really
seems to get their imaginations going.

Thank you for the idea!!
