One year we used paper pulp to make suns, moons, and stars that had faces.
They were about 8 inches in diameter. They were less time consuming than
clay and have held up beautifully. Painted with tempera (children used
reds, blues and greens) then just light sprayed with gold spray paint.
quite effective. I had forgotten about them until I saw your list. (Just
remembered we did "puppets" on dowel rods of various animals for a play
