Dear Woody,
       I want to publically thank you for your "artist of the week" idea. It
worked really well with my high school students and when I broke my hip and
wasn't able to to do an active review for final exams I was able to pull out
the information from their "artists notebooks". I let students use their
notes I had them compare and contrast artists, write their opinions on
impressionism vs. realism, critique works of art as well as as answer
questions about vocabulary . It was all there. I am so grateful for your
idea. The kids even commented on how much they learned about art. Many now
have a favorite artist.
       Thanks again, it is truly a good way to introduce students to art.
